Is it ok to do the wedding photography yourself?

Photography can be labor intensive and it requires a lot of talent and skills. Wedding photography is a crucial job but someone has to do it. You do not have a second chance once the wedding is over. So the photographer must be an expert in the composition of pictures from subject to the little details of the background. He must effectively and efficiently use the perspective and learn how to lower the depth of field. You do not just say cheese or one, two, three in taking great pictures. You must know how to get candid as well. But most importantly, you have to create a mood in the images to make it more romantic.

If you have what it takes to face those challenges then yes it is ok to do the wedding photography yourself. You can actually save a lot of money and you are in control of the pictures. If you hire an expensive photographer, he may not be able to come up with your expectations. If you do the wedding photography, then at least you are more confident that you are doing the right thing.

But why take the risk? If you are not that confident in taking pictures, then it is always safe to let the experts do their thing! You do not want to ruin the best day of your life with bad angle and blurry pictures. If you have the budget, then as a couple, it is a must to invest more in your wedding photography.
